Distributed Governance Model

START is based on a distributed governance model operated by the START Steering Committee under a rotation chair principal. This means that START is organisationally decentralised and that the position of Chair of the Steering Committee rotates between the universities.

The main secretariat is orchestrated from Aarhus University yet START is managed by a joint administrative support team with local administrative support at the individual university.
