START is a joint research centre by the united Danish Universities with the mission to play a key role in developing the tools and strategies unlocking green transitions of the Agrifood Systems that can mitigate the climate changes and ensure a sustainable and long-term systemic change.
Innovation Fund Denmark has granted DKK 201 million to the research and innovation partnership Agri-FoodTure. Climate, sustainable agriculture and food production will thereby be the first of the four mission-driven green research and innovation partnerships launched by Innovation Fund Denmark.
The Centre for SusTainable AgRifood sysTems (START) got off to the best possible start at its kick-off event at Sandbjerg Estate on 21 and 22 March.
In the future, Danish universities will have a crucial role to play in creating solutions for more sustainable development within agricultural and food systems. Therefore, all eight universities in Denmark have come together to set up a research centre with a common mission to future-proof agricultural and food systems. The center is called START and the secretariat has been based at the Faculty of Technical Sciences.
