Cultivating Synergies: Nature and Farming for Sustainable Agrifood Futures - a Future Agrifood Systems early-career event
Rethinking Farming Landscapes: Nature + Food + Climate. How can Denmark’s agrifood systems deliver both abundant food and restored nature? What would it take for rewetted peatlands, rewilded fields, or wetlands to become not only ecological treasures, but also viable and accepted parts of farming systems?

We invite PhD students, postdocs, and early-career researchers from across Danish universities to join Cultivating Synergies — a one-day interdisciplinary hackathon hosted by the START Future Agrifood Systems HUB. Together, we will explore how nature-based approaches and technological innovation can work hand in hand for a more sustainable, resilient food future. Participants will collaborate across disciplines to design creative, evidence-driven solutions that bridge agriculture, ecology, and society — co-creating bold ideas for integrating nature restoration into sustainable agrifood systems.
