As Denmark assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2025, the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Ministry for Green Transition, on behalf of the European Commission, will host two conferences focused on advancing the EU’s green transition through bioeconomy, food systems, and biodiversity. The conferences will take place on the 2 and 3 December 2025.
The first conference on 2 December will mark a key moment for the launch of the new EU Bioeconomy Strategy. The strategy aims to unlock the full potential of bio-based innovation, enabling Europe to lead in regenerative, circular, and sustainable growth. This high-level conference will explore how to boost and mainstream the bioeconomy through science, innovation, and governance.
The second conference on 3 December will focus on how transformative governance can drive a just green transition for the agriculture and food system – while delivering on climate and biodiversity goals
The conferences will convene policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, civil society, and EU project representatives to discuss how to turn strategy into action. Join us in shaping the future of Europe’s green transition.
Both conferences are held under the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and are organised by the University of Copenhagen, the Ministry of Green Transition, CLEVERFOOD, and IPBES Denmark.
Please visit the conference home page to see the programmes for both conferences and find a registration link for each conference.
Sessions from the main auditorium will be live-streamed.
With kind regards, University of Copenhagen, The Ministry of Green Transition, CLEVERFOOD, and IPBES Denmark
