Speaker for this talk is Associate Professor Trine Susanne Johansen from the School of Communication and Culture, Faculty of ARTS, Aarhus University who will present her research on how companies use strategic communication about sustainability in the Agrifood sector.
About her research she writes:
“With an overreaching research interest in understanding organizations as part of societal and market contexts, I study how organizations initiate and participate in communication on social and environmental topics. Particularly, I take an interest in how organizations communicatively engage with potential controversial or paradoxical issues. From a strategic communicative vantage point, I argue that organizations need to find approaches which work in uncontrollable communication contexts where multiple, frequently conflicting, participants engage in conversations. During the talk, I offer my perspective on how strategic communication may develop agrifood sector organization's ability to handle the complexities surrounding sustainability. The questions guiding the talk include: How can organizations within the agrifood sector potentially engage in sustainability communication? And what can agrifood sector organisations learn from understanding the uncontrollable nature of communication as conversation.”
